What you’ll be working on and why this role matters.
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating the planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of software development activities within an autonomous Scrum pod. The role involves leading Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring that the team follows Scrum principles, Agile methodologies, and established project management practices. The Scrum Master works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Technical Leads, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable sprint goals, maintain delivery priorities, and ensure alignment between project objectives and development outcomes.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong hands-on technical background as a Full Stack Developer, with practical experience in software application development, architecture, and the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This technical expertise enables the Scrum Master to understand development complexities, evaluate technical dependencies, facilitate meaningful discussions between development and business teams, and proactively identify potential delivery risks. The candidate should be capable of understanding project requirements, monitoring development progress, coordinating task assignments, tracking sprint backlogs, managing dependencies, and ensuring that deliverables meet defined quality standards and timelines.
The Scrum Master will act as a facilitator, mentor, and delivery coordinator, fostering collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the Scrum pod. The role requires proactively identifying and removing impediments, resolving coordination challenges, managing stakeholder expectations, monitoring sprint velocity and delivery performance, and ensuring timely escalation of risks and bottlenecks. The candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams, promote Agile best practices, maintain effective project documentation, and drive predictable, high-quality delivery in a dynamic enterprise software development environment.

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring effective participation and actionable outcomes.
• Work closely with the Product Owner and development team to maintain a clear, prioritized, and achievable product backlog; support refinement and estimation of user stories.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the Scrum pod and track sprint progress, deliverables, dependencies, and milestones to support predictable delivery.

Requirements
Skills and experience that will help you succeed.
Experience: 5–6 years of combined experience in full stack software development and project management / delivery coordination.
Development Background: Prior hands-on experience as a Full Stack Developer, with working knowledge of frontend technologies such as React/TypeScript and backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot and/or Python.
Technical Understanding: Familiarity with REST APIs, application architecture, SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, Git, testing practices, and CI/CD workflows.
Project Management: Practical experience in planning, tracking, and coordinating software development projects, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
Agile & Scrum: Good understanding of Agile principles, Scrum framework, sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
Communication & Ownership: Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, problem-solving, reporting, and team coordination skills; ability to identify risks and drive issues to closure
Qualifications and certifications
Education and credentials that support this role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Scrum / Agile certification or relevant project management certification preferred.
Nice to have
Bonus strengths — not required, but valued.
Scrum Master certification such as PSM I, CSM, or equivalent.
Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile project management tools.
Experience in government, BFSI, or other regulated-sector technology programmes.
